Yorgos Bakalos (visual artist / performer)

Born in Athens in 1974. Graduate School of Dramatic "Authority" of Nelly Karras and holds an MA degree on the digital culture (Digital Performance) from Brunel University in London, which has been awarded a grant for research on media art in the lead-exposure Synthetic times made the National Art Museum of China, Beijing 2008. From 2000 until 2009 he lived in London where he worked professionally as an actor, performer, choreographer, dancer with La Fura Dels Baus (Les Baccantes, Italy), Senza Tempo (La Traviata Manchester), Para Active (Onion Bar, UK Tour ), EmergencyExitArts (The Arena, UK Tour), Argilla (Anima-L, UK - Italy) Jo Mitchell (Concerto for Voice and Machinery, ICA London) Johannes Birringer (Ukiyo, Sadler's Wells), etc.

He has created works on the harmonious coexistence and interaction between pro body and digital live art/media performance and video installation in England, Hamlet's struggle (Oxford House - London, Antonin Artaud - Brunel University), Re: FlexOn (eye) (Barbican - Plymouth, Commission), Meta_morph (o) s: is (Shunt Vaults - London, Residency). Former founding member of the Corpus Soma theater group which staged three productions and artistic collaborator on DAB LAP (founded by Johannes Birringer) based in London.
