Despoina Meimaroglou was born in 1944 in Alexandria. She studied painting, typography and graphic arts at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in Great Britain (1961-1965). In 1966 she moved in Athens where she worked for 10 years as a graphic designer and art-director with advertising companies. Since 1981 she has shown her work in 25 solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
She has participated in major collective exhibitions in Greece, Paris, Milan, Toronto, the Czech Republic, at the Library of Alexandria, and in the USA (New York, Washington and Chicago). Since the mid-90s she has participated in artists’ workshops invited by Universities in the USA, Ecuador and England.
