Maria Paschalidou is an artist working with photography, video and installation. She has focused on the expanded uses of the photographic medium, the video narratives, audiences’ participation and interactive installations. Her research interests include initiatives for collaborative projects and participative acts in art as well as activities that challenge dichotomies such as artist-audience, image-language, theorypraxis. Her creative works have been presented at exhibitions, festivals and art projects in Europe, U.S., Canada, Russia, Australia and Asia. She is a PhD candidate at De Montfort University (Photography, Imaging and Creative technologies) and holds a MFA (Photography, Columbia College Chicago, U.S.). She currently lives in Athens where she works as an art professor specializing in Constructed photographic realities, Digital imaging & video and Research Development in Art & Design.
