Bodies of Rope
Beton7 Gallery presents a solo exhibition of Vasiliki Psarrou entitled "ROUTES". The artist presents an aspect of her multifaceted activity, which includes installation and performance. Construction with ropes and knots around a body is part of the sculptural Psarrou system. The project starts from the initial unit of knot, spreading like a spider web around a head, and then to bodies in various poses.

An artist performance will take place on the opening.

Vasiliki Psarrou studied fashion design from 1970-73. She studied Fine Arts in Athens from 1991-97 in the laboratory of H. Botsoglou, painting and stage design in the laboratory of G. Ziakas. She continued with a second degree in sculpture in the workshop of Panourgias. Since 2005 she collaborates with the School of Fine Arts in Athens. She has worked in many theatrical productions at the National Theatre, Theatre Arts, Regional Theatre etc. She has held three solo exhibitions and has participated in group exhibitions (Mediaterra, Center for Contemporary Art Ileana, etc), and festivals – in the 2nd International Performance Festival "Opa", 2009.
