TINOS JAZZ FESTIVAL 2009 | “THE START”

Beton7 in collaboration with the Cultural Foundation of Tinos presents Marinetta Kritikou’s (MAK) documentary film “The Start”; a film about the first jazz festival that took place in Tinos island (Tinos Jazz Festival) in August 2009.

The Tinos Jazz Festival is being organized every year since 2009 by the Cultural Foundation of Tinos and has established itself as a significant forum for both classical and more innovative forms of jazz music. With guest musicians from Greece and abroad, the Tinos Jazz Festival gives its audience the chance to get familiar with different styles and artistic approaches to jazz music.

After the screening, Marinetta Kritikou, filmmaker, will talk about the philosophy of her documentary film and she will answer questions regarding her work. Τhe organizing commitee will also attend the event.

As part of the event, live jazz improvisations will be performed by musicians that have taken part in the Tinos Jazz Festival, from 2009 up to now. Giorgos Κοntrafouris, Dimitris Τsakas, Τakis Barberis, Giannis Κassetas, Κwstis Christodoulou, Priamos Mwrakis, Pinelopi Τzanetaki, Μanos Theodwrakis, Giorgos Fakanas, Dimitris Psaltis, Miranda Verouli will perform among others.
