Musica Ricercata
Piano recital by Giannis Giannopoulos
Friday, December 30, 2016, Time: 21.00
The internationally acclaimed pianist John Giannopoulos gives a piano recital at Beton7, which tells musically the story between hell and paradise. The works of G. Ligeti, F. Liszt, D. Skyllas and J.S.Bach-Busoni were chosen by the soloist and will be presented in the space because of the intense energy it gives. The compositions, either inspired by magnificent works of the art such as the Divine Comedy of Dante Aligeri (Dante sonata - F.Liszt) or the last Judgment Triptych by Hieronymous Bosch (title by D. Scylla), or experimentation around the idea of creating "new music out of nothing" (Musica Ricercata - G. Ligeti), or again as a prayer and invocation to God (Ich ruf zu Dir own - JSBach / Busoni) answer the question: where does music come from?
