*** Free for three ***
A "typical" trio piano (piano, double bass, drums) in two free improvisation sessions which gives up every formality. The only prearrangement between the musicians is the development of all possible instrument combinations (solo, duo, trio).
Alexis Porfiriadis is a composer, music theorist and improviser. He studied composition in England (PhD) and Austria (Master and Postgraduate). His works have been performed at international festivals and individual concerts in Europe, USA, and Canada. Since 2008, he has been working systematically on the composition of open and verbal forms which promote teamwork and equality among the members of a group. As an improviser, he has collaborated with musicians, dancers and visual artists presenting performances in Greece, Austria and Serbia. He is a founding member of the improvisation and experimental music group, 6daEXI Improvisation Ensemble (https://6daexit.wordpress.com/), which it is considered today the longest-running improvisation group in Greece (created in 2007). In 2017, together with musicians who participated in the improvisation workshops, he did in Athens in the period 2015-17, the experimental and improvisational music ensemble WHI ensemble (https://ensemblewhi.wordpress.com/) was created. Both groups have performed free improvisation and a lot of experimental music notation of the 20th and 21st century.
