Labri Giotto | (R)EVOLUTION: DI(E)STRA(U)CTION (O)FROM THE ICON | SOUND AND VISION PERFOMANCE
She began composing music in Ireland in 2007, while studying Ethnomusicology and being inspired from the landscapes of this strange mystical country and the sounds of the world.
The Irish gave her the nickname Labri Giotto from her name Labrini and Giotto from her favorite painter Giotto Di Bondone.
Her music is improvisational. She uses vocal techniques from Tibet, Afghanistan, Iran, Bulgaria, Greece and Ireland. She is accompanied by unconvetional instruments, such as romanian harp and mouth harp, mandolin with a bow and shrutti box, an old Indian intrument. |
