Yorgos Mouloudakis' Journal of an Other | Multimedia Performance
Performances: Thursdays, February 9 & 23, 2011 Time: 21.30 Tickets: 15 Euro, 10 Euro (reduced) Duration: 65 min
Beton7 presents the first part of George Mouloudakis’ work Journal of an Other. Journal of another is a multimedia performance, which uses speech by means of projection, pre-recorded material and music by an electric quartet of George Mouloudakis (text, music, design, classic and midi guitar), Charis Kanellidis (midi guitar), Michalis Soulakis (electric bass) and Yannis Leloudas (natural drums). The visual and audio material are formed live, hence the duration varies from show to show.
"A structural element of the Journal is the fragment. Shipwrecks of speech (words-lottery tickets) are abandoned on the screen, submerged in a muted artistic environment. Scattered journal papers, time dismembered but rich. -Time of the hidden quotidian that breathes in parallel with the “real”. Music plain as a note that insists. Prepared sounds move in potential worlds. Inside and out reality fuse one in the other. Technology supports this chameleon, sliding towards the sensory deconstruction: The revolutionary is gestated here, solely in the nucleus of the unconscious. We call Other the person who whispers from that prompt box and we sneak a peek into his journal, to the extent where That allows it. The contract presupposes the internal spelling out of the spectator: The body of the Protagonist exists, provided that the common Myth moulds him in our imagination. Potential “gift silver poem”, a sketch of our own singular Other." (George Mouloudakis' description translated by Anastasia Diakaki)
