It has been eighteen years from the time that Elias Lagios and Akis Boyatzis first sat face to face communicating their art to each other. Lagios with his audaciously groundbreaking poetry and Boyatzis with his dark, structured melodic soundscapes, converged into a song cycle which after a brief exposure to the public, were put in a drawer for some later time.
Since then, Boyatzis with the band Sigmatropic has again traveled with his music through poetry with their oeuvre “Sixteen Haiku and Other Stories”, among others. Today, six and a half years after Lagios’ passage to afterlife, Boyatzis has opened the drawer and pulled out the forgotten songs. With his longtime collaborator Theodore Pistiolas, also a member of Sigmatropic, they decided to rework the material from scratch and under the moniker Lacrymosa Project and will be presenting it for the first time at Beton7. With them, Maria Theofanidou (singing) and Stelios Katsianis (lute), who also helped the duo during the first phase of the material, will also appear as guests.
Words that aim directly at the center of existence hand-in-hand with the electro-acoustic sounds of Lacrymosa Project; and Elias will be somewhere hidden among us. You will recognize him from his eternal smile.
