The soldier's Tale (L'Histoire du soldat) of Igor Stravinsky was written in 1918, in the climax of Worls War I, in Switzerland by the great Russian composer Igor Stravinsky in collaboration with the well-known Swiss poet Charles Ferdinand Ramiz. The project combines different arts 'music, theater, dance, recitation' without each of them losing its autonomy. Designed to be "read, played, and danced" not only by the Narrator, this is a project by multitude of experimentation which exceeds the categories of its kind. The soldier's Story is based on a popular Russian legend starring a soldier and the Devil and resembles a popular version of the legend of Faust.
