Falling down the stairs
“BlackSock” theatre company presents the play “Falling down the stairs” by Charalampos Giannou. The play has won an award by the National Theatre of Greece in 2009.
A few words about the play:
Why be yourself, when you can be anyone else but you? And why bother living a life, when you can just make up a story about living it?
Grownups tell lies, while children make up stories.
Like Hans and Greta do. They tell the same story, night after night. About a boy and a girl, living in a house where doors are always locked and a mother that deprives them of everything except pure and simple love. Don’t ask why. This is how the story goes. After all, it is the story of their life. And, as long as the story does not change, nothing else changes: time stands still, children are always children and the end never comes. Until, a strange man barges in. And he has no time for fairy tales, especially for never ending ones. So, the story will be told one more time. Maybe it will be the last
