Jérôme Dupin | uncertain landmarks

Beton7 Gallery presents the solo exhibition of Jérôme Dupin titled “uncertain landmarks”. The exhibition will include works in-situ and video. Stemming from the questionings of the movements of the 60s and 70, his researches question the pictorial process and the concept of tableau, as well as the notion of space. He realized several wall paintings, in touch with the architecture of various places. His videos are rather short essays questioning the visible and the language. His main references are Henri Matisse and Marcel Duchamp. He  attaches a real significance on the reconciliation of art and life.

Jérôme Dupin is a painter and video artist. He was born in 1956 in France (in Lisieux – Normandie). He lives and works in Paris.

He continued Art studies at Villa Arson (Nice – France) - after two years studying political and economic sciences at Paris 2 University.

As Professor of National Fine Arts schools, he has been teaching at different schools.

Since 2009, he works at the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, mainly in charge of the higher education and the research within the schools of art.
